A Group of Fish Camp Attendees and Counselors engaging in Yell-Off

Fish Camp, as pictured above, is a very honored tradition of Texas A&M University. Fish Camp has become one of the most practiced traditions at Texas A&M inviting over 350 freshmen to meet their fellow incoming Aggies each year. Discussion Groups, otherwise known as DGs, are often the basis for flourishing friendships amongst Aggies. Fish Camp is also a great opportunity for students past their freshmen year to engage with the help of encouraging spirit as Fish Camp Counselors! The Camp has a long standing history, dating back to 1954, held by YMCA Director Gordon Gay. Since its creation, Fish Camp was meant to encourage excitement and bonding over the traditions at A&M. Fish Camp is the often a freshman's first tradition before stepping foot on campus. Overall, the experience is truly like no other and if you have the opportunity, you should definitely sign up for FISH CAMP!
